The Idea Lab is imagined as an intensive, interactive, and free-thinking environment where adult allies will join with youth leaders to immerse themselves in a collaborative thinking process. You will be joining a state-wide movement that needs your expertise, vision and dreams of what youth mental wellness can look like. The workshop will result in the development of an innovative concept to increase preventative mental health services in schools using youth-led approaches.

An 8-hour course designed to provide attendees with tools to identify pre-incident indicators of targeted violence; examine mental health issues and related community resources; understand legal considerations; and prepare for the law enforcement response to a mass casualty attack.

This year’s APIMEHC theme is Action for Wellness: The Power of Legislation. The purpose of APIMEHC is to increase awareness of mental health concerns and promote improvement of mental health services for API communities

This year’s theme – “Shifting the Undocumented Narrative from Surviving to Thriving” – brings attention to the ways students navigate the challenges of undocumented status and achieve well-being despite status-imposed barriers. The conference will help reframe deficit-based approaches that emphasize the adversities and barriers imposed by undocumented status to examine more closely what it means to achieve thriving and well-being in the context of undocumented status.
