Cultural competency, cultural responsiveness and cultural humility have become imperatives in teaching and service practices with Asian American and Pacific Islander students. The presenter provides clinical information and research, in addition to personal stories garnered from AAPI students. The presentation also includes recommendations from nationally recognized mental health experts; discussion of evidence-based practices, practice-based evidence, and community-defined effective practices; and strategies for working with family and students on outreach and prevention.
