How to Talk to My Friends

Some of us are open and honest with our close friends about our challenges and feelings, and some of us are more private. There is no “right” way to share what you’re going through — every friendship or relationship is different. Sharing more about your personal life may help you feel closer to people, but it may also open the possibility of your friend sharing information with others against your wishes.

School Break Resources

School breaks offer a much-needed pause from academics and a busy school schedule. Students can take this time to relax and get back into activities they didn’t have time for while they were in school. However, this time may also bring some stressors: disrupted schedules, childcare no longer in place, increased time in close settings with family, and other changes. To maintain a balance and your mental health, we have gathered some helpful resources to keep you on track and support you or your child’s mental health needs.

College Mental Health Toolkit

The MHC College Student Mental Health Toolkit is designed to equip college students with the resources, services, and support needed to thrive as they transition into the beginning of adult life. Inside this toolkit, you will find key background information on college students’ mental health as it stands in 2023. You will also find tips for students on maintaining their mental health and well-being and advice for fostering mental health awareness on every college campus. Our aim is to provide students with digestible, accessible information to support their mental health journey and overall college experience.

Mental Health in College

This transition can be intimidating, especially if other people in your family have not attended college; if you are a member of a community that has been traditionally marginalized or underrepresented at your school; or if you are a returning student or a student-veteran. Many students work to help cover the cost of attendance, and some have family responsibilities to manage in addition to their coursework. Trying to manage these demands can be difficult.
