Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA)

Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance has meetings throughout California. Currently, most are meeting online via Zoom. These meetings are great for those struggling with anxiety, Major Depressive Disorder as well as Bipolar Disorder. Most people attending these groups are over 20 years of age. There is no cost, and they serve to disrupt isolation with is the leading predictor in suicidal behavior. People can find groups in their area by visiting the National Website dbsalliance.org.

Launching Nod to Address Social Distancing

Following COVID-19 shelter in place directives, the Nod app was rapidly to provide tips, tools and prompts to help students maintain relationships while staying safe and adhering to public health precautions. Using all of the same positive psychology and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, the goal is to get the world connecting despite the challenges of physical and social isolation.

Support for Immigrant Communities During COVID-19

Resources for undocumented communities during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Topics covered include: Addressing Fear and Coping with Stress During Infectious Disease Outbreaks; Health Access & Guidance Regarding Covid-19; Connecting To Free/Low-Cost Resources; Legal Rights and Supports for Workers; Housing; and many more topics. The resource is being updated as more information becomes available. Available in Spanish & English.

Mental Health Connector (for California Residents)

Mental Health Connector connects undocumented young people with 1:1 psychological support, allowing them to access their strengths and resiliency in order to achieve personal goals and healing. The experienced and culturally responsive mental health therapists volunteer to provide free and completely confidential services, tailored to meet the needs of each individual. All undocumented young people who reside in California and are comfortable conversing in English are eligible for services.
